Default headed to vegas looking for info

going to vegas in mid december, where should i stay and play? (looking for small nl games1/2-2/4) limit HE from 3/6-6/12 (same for O8) and similar but more flexible on the stakes for stud 8 (my favorite game). economical is what im looking for in a hotel, soft games in the poker rooms, and stud8 being available semi important. what should i do when im not at the tables? Anyone out there want to hang around with a vegas newb? thanks in advance for your responses and any added info is appreciated.

Do a search. Lotsa posts on this topic. During my two stays (small sample size, I know) I found Mandalay and Excalibur to have the best games. The players at Mandalay Bay are terrible and have lots of money to throw around. The players at Luxor and Excalibur are equally bad. With moving walkways and trams connecting the three it is a veritable seafood buffet of SS poker. Enjoy!
