Default Atlantic City and the Strike

Is the strike still going on? Are services affected? Will I be able to eat? Will my room be clean?

It depends what hotel you go to. I believe the strike effects Caesars, Trop and Ballys. I went into Trop last week and there were protesters screaming at me to leave and calling me unAmerican....

Yeah, me too - but it took me a second to figure out what they were saying since their latino accents were soooo thick

Since when is capitalisim un-american? If you want to spend your hard earned cash, then do so. It's a free country. Just like you have the right to patronise a business that is being picketed, they have the right to picket. But they should leave you alone... thats just not right. Easy there big fellow!!!!

I just thought it was funny that the unions are screaming about "Real Americans" losing jobs to overseas cheap labor - that's why you pay your union dues - so they can protect you: To where it's come full circle - that the imigrants have not only taken the jobs but the unions as well. Default is this dang strike ever going to end?

My low-limit candy store (the Trop) was basically dead last night. Half of the poker tables were closed because dealers had been pulled off tables to work food service jobs. The crowd was not its usual Friday night size either - only about 60-70% of its normal size. I found a parking spot in the garage in less than 2 minutes, which is also not a good sign.

I heard a rumor that the two sides met for less than 40 minutes yesterday, spent the whole time swearing at each other, and then walked away. Is this crap ever going to end?

theres 12 casinos in AC

7 are on strike

the 5 that are NOT on strike are:
the 3 trumps, taj, plaza, marina
the sands and the borgata

so it doenst really affect poker all that much, basically the only place where any poker action goes on where there is a strike is the trop, and in my opinion the trop card room blows

if the trop's cocktail waitresses and bartenders are on strike, I dont know if you could tell the differnce

I don't care about anything besides the Borgata girls not being on strike.

We were at the Trop on Saturday, it was wall to wall until around Midnight when it started to slim down. Of course my sample size is too small, its the first time I have been to their card room - I usualy visit the competitors places.

The strike didn't affect us at all.... we barey even saw the strikers.
