Ever had one of those nights?

My playing experience last night was so incredible that I doubt it will ever happen again but it was a great ride. Bought in for $300 for a $5-$10 game at Casino Aztar in Evansville and left 6.5 hours later with $990 profit(cashed $1,290).

I had some good starting hands but never had A-A. I had each of the following and all hit sets and stood-up: 2-2,K-K, 10-10, J-J. I also had some BB specials where 6-3 flops two pair and boats on the turn against a flopped straight. It was an unbelievable night of catching cards and playing well.

To increase my win rate, I had two maniacs raising and reraising all the time into my strong or nut hands. Because they raised with rags, everyone called or reraised them creating huge preflop pots for a $5-$10 game. Most of the preflop pots were near or over $100.

It was a great night!

Hey congrats! I LOVE THOSE NIGHTS.

Here was one of my highlights from August 30th (I copy and pasted it from a past thread):

- 4-tabling $2/$4 at Party
- 266 hands played in 1 hr 10 min
- won 10% hands; won 46% of hands for which I saw flop
** up $312 (78 BB)

(Highlights included straight flush, quads, and about 4-5 boats ...)

NICE. those are the nights that your QJs always flops top 2 pair, and your AQ, always flops the Q and turns the ace to make someone else a smaller 2 pair. semi-bluffs always hit, and position raises flop monsters against people that know you were just raising your position.

do you color up at all? at 8-16 i like to build pyramids, but i almost have to do something after i get 6 racks in front of me...

I had a night where I made 1100$ 3-tabling 3-6, and one night years ago where I won $640 in a 2-5 spread limit game. When it comes to middle limits, I think my biggest night was in Denver about 5 years ago when I won $2700$ in a 20-40.

But that's the weird thing. I have, to date, logged over 700,000 hands of hold 'em, and probably another 60,000-80,000 of various Omaha games (O8, pot limit high, etc,) and I've never had one of those truly earth-shattering nights.

On the flip side, the worst slump I've ever hit was for 168 BB's, which happened last winter (in that same stretch I went 45,000 hands and ended up about 700 BB's below expectation). Judging from some of the stories that circulate around here, I guess I should be happy with that. But it would be nice to just once walk out of a 15-30 with a gunny sack full of chips.

After floating about for my first 3k hands down 40-60BB at party 5/10 I had an amazing 80BB rush in about half an hour(3 tabling) to put me in the black for the first time.
