Default Poker in Reno/Wendover

Me and my pops are thinking about moving out to Elko Nevada come first of the year and I was wondering what PokerRooms in Reno and Wendover that are good.

I am aware of the couple tables in the Red Lion in Elko Nevada and I guess there is rumors on putting a few in downtown in the next couple months but I would like to keep my options open, even if it means driving a couple hours either way.

P.S I heard that there is a casino north of Elko on an indian reservation in Idaho but I don't know if they have a poker room.

I was in Wendover back in March and played at the Rainbow. Seemed likea nice room. Lots of TVs, no smoking. To be honest I can't remember the limits they were playing. It was like a 1-5 spread HE with a kill, 5-10 HE and maybe some Omaha, but don't hold me to that. I DO remember having a lot of fun and doing well enought to pay for a new archery setup. :-)

Reno has plenty of cardrooms. Depends what you are looking for. Try the Peppermill, Hilton, Atlantis, El Dorado and Nugget.

Thanks for the replys, basicaly I want low limit games with a HighHand/BB Jackpot and ~$4/10% rake. $1-$5 spread and $2-$10 spread seem to be the run of the mill games in Elko and Wendover which doesn't seem to be a problem. No Smoking is a plus, TV's is another plus. Comps and (free) drinks are also something that would be great. Satelites to larger tournaments in the area or in Vegas would be ideal but not required.

P.S Wasn't aware of all the rooms that had a poker room in Reno, I look forward to making the drive out there once we get settled down in Elko.

The Nugget in Wendover offers everything you list with the possible exception of TVs. I hear the place accross the street (not sure of the name now but it used to be the silversmith) also has a pretty good room.

I played in a tourney at the Nugget in July and had a very nice time. Keep your eye on the dealer though... They had one that was just plain AWEFUL!!

I grew up in Utah and used to go to Wendover a couple of times a month.
