Default Party 2/4 game selection (mini-rant)

God, it seems like regardless of what table I join, there is a 50/50 chance that within ten hands it turns into a rock garden with every hand being a blind steal/defense...Anyone else have this problem or am I just having selective memory?

Any elite table selection tips would be appreciated.

I just moved up from 1/2, and the tables do seem noticeably tighter. However, a little searching and you can find some that are just as loose as any microlimit table.

As for table-hunting advice: Most people join the waitlist for tables with high average pot-sizes, but most of the people waiting to get on these tables are decent players, therefore I tend to go for the tables with slightly smaller pots and no waitlist.

I think you're a little off beat here. I've never palyed 2/4 at Party, but I have about 25K hands at 3/6 and maybe 5K at 5/10 and I've never done any "table selection" past going on the waiting list for the first table with 9 players. I don't think I've EVER seen a Party table that I wuold describe as a rock garden. My advice would be to just keep playing. If you could beat 1/2 you can beat 2/4, don't let the higher stakes intimidate you.

You are playing at party or one of it's affiliates right?
If not that would explain it.

Good point, I didn't even consider that this could be a non Party skin. If it isn't then that is a BIG mistake.

Yeah, it's on Empire...but J.R. is right here...I'm probably just having selective memory since it's so annoying having to find a new table when one becomes crappy.

2/4 can have tables with a VPIP of under 25 pretty frequently at 2/4. Then again, 2/4 can be incredibly wild and swingy, too.

It gets a lot better on the evenings and especially weekends.

During days and slow evenings, a very well-populated buddy list helps a lot. If you follow your pals around a lot, you can see them inspiring action in everybody else, and keeping the profitability high.
