Default 15/30 PP 77 perfectly?

Party Poker 15/30 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 raises, Hero calls,
I just call here cuz MP3 was a total donkey, he would call raises with anything so I don't think an isolation 3 bet is in order here. With the donkey calling 80% of the time here it makes other people like the blinds to come into the pot. If i flop a set i expect to be able to win a big pot here.
MP2 folds, MP3 calls, CO folds, Button folds, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: (10 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB bets, BB calls, UTG+2 raises, Hero calls, MP3 folds, SB calls, BB calls.

Excellent I hit my set here. I was to keep the really week hands in here and then charge them on the turn. Especially MP3 who would call people down with bottom pair constantly.

Turn: (9 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG+2 bets, Hero raises, SB calls, BB folds, UTG+2 3-bets, Hero caps, SB calls, UTG+2 calls.

I put him on AQ around here hoping its not AA or QQ. I'm really happy if it is AQ because i expect to get more bets out of him on the river.

River: (21 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, UTG+2 bets, Hero calls, SB folds.
VOMIT

Final Pot: 23 BB

Results in white below:
UTG+2 has Qd As (full house, queens full of aces).
Hero has 7s 7h (full house, sevens full of queens).
Outcome: UTG+2 wins 23 BB.

I probably couldn't do it in the heat of battle, but you made a read and he hit that hand and you still called. The only other hand he really could have is AK and if that's the case he's also a total donkey.

I know you're getting over 20 to 1 but still...

Are calling and raising the only options preflop?

I think playing perfectly would have been folding PF and saving yourself the 7BB

You missed a flop raise.

When he states this :

If i flop a set i expect to be able to win a big pot here.

the answer to your question is yes.

I'm inclined to agree but its really entirely dependent on how often hero thinks SB will 3-bet here. If that percentage is low, flop needs to be raised in order to avoid facing the field with 2 cold on the turn. You would much rather do that on the flop. But if SB will 3-bet here often, then smooth calling and leaving your options to either cap or wait till the turn is certainly a valid line.

I think my oringal line of thinking was to keep SB and BB in the pot till the turn. Does everyone agree that a 3 bet here is in order with a preflop raiser raising the SB?

Yeah, but he saved a bet.

Just another tough beat, just like with the NFL today.
