Strategy change from Prima Poker to iGlobalMedia (party etc)
I currently mostly play 0.25/0.50 pot limit holdem on prima poker. But I want to move upp a limit to 0.5/1.0 and there is hardly ever anyone playing that (longhanded) on prima. So I checked out the iGlobalMedia net. They have several tables on each level 0.5/1.0 (aka 50PL) and above. What strategychanges should I make when moving there and moving up in stakes? Or should I just stick with prima and go on playing 0.5/1.0 nl istead?

stick with prima, .50/1.00 NL games are very easy with most of the time 50% seeing the flop.

My experience is with Empire and Party not iGlobalMedia but I believe they all use the same software. If not ignore the rest of this post.
You will find that underdog hands win more often than odds would dictate, roughly 20% more. This is good news/bad news depending on where you satand in a hand. As a winning player I find myself shoving in with the best hand most of the time and losing to a suck out more often than I should. Some of it comes back when I'm behind but it is clearly less than the amount I lose in this trade. I avoid Empire/party because I see no way to capitalize on this quirk. [/ QUOTE ] "odds" off by 20% just a Quirk? Sounds a lot more serious than that to me. What's your sample size? (How many hands have you recorded?) Anybody else notice this? I think it would be hard (but not impossible) to skew their random number generator to produce this effect. Would it also not be pretty risky not to spread an honest game? Finally, if you are right, it seems as though it would be fairly easy to adjust your play to this, especially since you appear to have a pretty accurate estimate of this effect (20%). |

the prima nl is very soft, and the deeper stacks give better players a larger advantage than at party. my firewall doesnt let me sign on to prima atm so i dont feel as bad telling people
