-200 BB graph and VPIP questions
9000 hands and 18 days after I was literally one win away from my 1/2 goal of 10K hands and 300+ BB's, I am finally over the hump*. I finish my 1/2 stretch at a modest +1.57 BB/100, but I think I'm a much better player for surviving this.
While I'm trying not to overanalyze my stats, I did notice a distinct drop in my VPIP pre and post slide. In the 13K hands up to and including the slide, I was a 16.38 VPIP player. In the 5.5K (sample size disclaimer), I have been playing at 14.72 VPIP. Do others find VPIP changes to be a typical response to your more severe down (and up?) swings? I'm fine with having a sub 15 VPIP, but am always on the lookout for changes in my play and want to re-include the more marginal profitable 1/2 situations. * Actually I'm at +297 BB's, so barring another slide, I hope to be playing 2/4 later this weekend. |

Re: -200 BB graph and VPIP questions
1. Pokertracker - session tab - print - export to excel
2. Excel - Define two aggregate columns for cumulative hands and BB's (example D3 would be: =SUM(C3+D2)) 3. Excel - create XY plot, line only, chart 4. Excel - Convert chart to GIF. (easier way?) 5. Host and Post |

I actually had a 168 BB downslide and didn't realize it... |

your VPIP slipping is as much effect as cause. Sometimes you get bad cards.

Re: -200 BB graph and VPIP questions
Hi Spider,
I just got my 300BB's at 1/2 in 10k hands, so I'm now moving up to 2/4 so I guess I will see you there. That was one incredible slide. My worst has been around 100BB's. I also noticed that after a slide I got more tighter. My VP$IP in the last 4k hands has been around 16%. I don't know if that is too low or not for 1/2. I really can't think of any more hands to play, the tables just aren't juicy enough alot of the time to be playing speculative cards from EP. |

Re: -200 BB graph and VPIP questions
cool. with the micros, its always cool when generations of players move up together.
as for the VPIP, it may just be the cards over a small sample or added 1/2 experience. my aggression went up, so I don't think I was getting gunshy. |

Re: -200 BB graph and VPIP questions
Thanks for pointing out how to do this!!! PokerTracker is awesome, and I think that I know how to use about 10% of its features. I was feeling pretty down about the latest downswing that I have been experiencing (W$SD < 30% for last 700 hands or so!!!), but seeing things in picture form helps keep the confidence from dropping too far. |
