Hi all.
Heading to Vegas in a couple weeks and had a quick question (sorry i'm sure Vegas comes up all the time). I'm staying at the Venetian, which I know doesn't have a poker room. But the conceirge told me that the Flamingo has the lowest rake. Any confirmations? Thanks in advance. |

[/ QUOTE ] The El Cortez actually has the lowest rake (but I wouldn't recommend you go out of your way to take advantage of that). You might find the rake at the Flamingo to be a bit higher as they scoop out some money for a high hand of the day (at leat they did when I was last there in march). The Room at the Flamingo is smack-dab out in the middle of everything, poor room. In the Venetian area, you may want to check out Imperial Palace and Harrah's which both recently opened rooms. Bally's also has a brand new room. They all have games from 2/4 and up. Mirage is 3/6 and Bellagio 4/8 and up. I think the rake is pretty comparable all around town. |

It was just grubby and grimy and drab. And it's right in the middle of all the slots. Go play at Mirage or Bellagio, much better experience at both places. |

Didn't the Venetian have a poker room at one time? I'm sure I saw some poker tables in the middle of the casino surrounded by a waist high iron fence type deal. This was in 2002.

Thanks for the info everyone. I think I'll probably just go Bellagio so I can play some games at a nice room and possibly watch some high stakes from the rail.

The 2-5 blind NL game at Flamingo was very soft when I was there with four people calling a 20 dollar raise common before the flop and poor play after that. Min buy-in is 100, Max 300. I played most of the time at Bellagio/Mirage, but often ended my night at Flamingo (where I was staying).

Word on the street is that the Venetian is opening a room by Christmas. Same for the MGM (which definitely used to have a poker room).

The Flamingo does not have the lowest rake. For example, in the 2/4 game there, the rake is 10% or $3.50 max. There are quite a few poker rooms in town that offer 10% and $3.00 max -- Another poster was also correct in noting that the El Cortez has the lowest rake in Vegas at $2.50.
