How Stupid is my friend?

My friend emailed me this hand, and we disagree vehemently about his turn play. He didn't have a great read but thought that the players were relatively, though not super, tight. Thoughts? (forgot to add, he "accidentally" hit RAISE preflop. Ignore that stupid play for now)

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 folds, Hero raises, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO calls, Button calls, SB folds, BB folds, UTG+1 calls.

Flop: (9.40 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, CO calls, Button calls, UTG+1 folds.

Turn: (6.20 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, CO bets, Button calls, Hero calls.

His turn play is atrocious--the initial check sucks, and once it's bet, not check-raising is criminal.

What scale are we using to measure how stupid this is? I need context to properly answer your question.

By the way, we can't really "ignore" the raise preflop, since button's range of hands is those he's coldcalling an MP raise with.

Why did you put "accidentally" in quotes? Is there some nonzero chance your friend raised preflop on purpose?

I might go for a check-raise on the turn, but I can see betting it as well. Check-calling seems like a terrible option.

I'm giving him a stupidity ratio of about 13.2 : 1.7, where the first number is his stupidity and the second number the maximum stupidity associated with still sentient beings.

See, when I was reading the action I thought I was going to write "FPS" but he didn't even do that on the turn...

He raised preflop. He hit check, and then again hit call on the turn. That's a lot of accidents.
