How to misplay JJ in SB
I would call villian (button) a "normal" PP25 player. Loose preflop, but not terrible.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 max, 6 handed) saw flop|saw showdown CO ($64.58) Button ($62.75) SB ($24) Hero ($31.4) UTG ($11.35) MP ($16.7) Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG posts a blind of $0.5. MP calls $0.50, CO calls $0.50, Button calls $0.50, SB completes, Hero calls $0.25, UTG (poster) checks. I sometimes raise JJ, but in the SB, I thought I'd play it for set value in this family pot. Flop: ($3) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 players) No set, but with all undercards, I take a stab at winning the pot. Maybe a checkraise would be better? Hero bets $2, UTG folds, MP folds, CO calls $2, Button calls $2, SB folds. Turn: ($9) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets $5, CO calls $5, Button raises to $10, Hero ....? How often am I ahead here? |

Re: How to misplay JJ in SB
Not very.
Since the CO called yout turn bet before the button's min-raise, there's hardly any chance the button is bluffing. I'd say his most likely holding is 67 for the turned straight. There is also a small chance of a set or two pair, but most people don't minraise with those. I fold, and hope the CO looks him up. |
