Default bankroll requirements for multiple tables

I was wondering what the bankroll requirements should be for playing more than one game at a time. For example, if you play three tables at once (assume the limits are the same) do you need three times the bankroll? Or do you need just somewhat more (1.5 times, say).

You need a bigger roll, but not because it makes any difference that you are playing more tables, but because your win rate is probably lower on three tables per table than on one table.

If your win rate is the same at three tables as at one, then you need not change your roll.

Also with your win rate going down so does your variance. Playing 3 tables at the same limit get you in the long run quicker.

I believe there is a post somewhere by Mason stating that you can use the same sized roll (maybe smaller) if you multi-table and remain a winning player.

Lori,

Your variance also increases so even if your win rate stays the same, you do need a bigger bankroll. The SD will go up as the square root of the number of tables.

If the OP wants to calculate it precisely, he should estimate his expected winrate and SD and do a search for BruceZ's bankroll posts.

You seem a bit off your game due to this Empire crap, but you're still my hero. [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

That is not true. Getting to the long run quicker does not equal lower variance.

In general, anything that reducing your win rate will increase your variance.
