Default cubswin gets a 9 to 5

To all those who may give a shiet

After a 1.5 year run of grinding out online games and getting lots of flack from the family, I have decided to thrown in the towel on my online poker pro career. As of Monday, I will be employed by a major association doing policy work here in Washington DC. I will continue to "work" part time at night, when the games are much better anyway, and will of course continue to post here... mostly after work hours.... at least for the 1st month or so I just wanted to say thank you to all that provided advice and guidance the past few years and helped me through the good and bad times. There are way too many names to mention but you all know who you are. May all of you hold the nuts during the day games and get bad beat by me at night

I guess congrats are in order? Personally I enjoy having a real 9-5 and playing poker whenever I want to and not feeling obligated to get the hours in.

Nooooooooo! Say it ain't so, Joe.

seriously, good luck in the job. Hope that it's something that you at least like to do or can find interesting.

I've been thinking about doing the day job thing again myself, I just enjoy not having to work for someone else so much it's hard for me to give it up even though it might be more EV.

Stay in touch

Shauna

Default Good luck

Think of it this way.....poker may become more fun for you again. A hobby recreational (though profitable) experience...instead of a job.

Condolences/Congrats. And welcome (back??) to the real world. It's actually nice to have the 9-5 for the staple needs and the "part-time" poker job for the FUN Stuff.

Hope you enjoy your new ball and chain (and if you don't, I hope you can access this board from work).
