Default \"Blind Stealing\", Too Aggressive?

Party 3/6

Preflop: Hero is SB with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Everyone folds to Hero, Hero raises, BB calls.

Flop: (4 SB) 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, BB calls.

Turn: (3 BB) J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, BB calls.

River: (5 BB) K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, BB calls

Final Pot: 7 BB, between Hero and BB.

My thinking after his call on the turn was that he had to have hit the board, and my only chance to take it down was to bet the river.

I know this hand isn't all that profound, maybe the reason it sticks in my mind is because of how upset BB was after the hand (He used the word "biatch" numerous times and challenged me to try to steal his blind again . Next time I'll remember to turn off player chat). Was I too aggressive / stupid?

TIA

None of this looks too aggressive to me. He never raised, so it's hard to know if you are behind. On the flop, I bet out because often I'll fold a hand that called because it was "just one SB more" preflop. On the turn, you've got 4 outs to a gutshot and 6 more outs to your overcards, so you're calling any bets, and he STILL might fold, so I think it's a definite bet HU. On the river, you've got the nuts, so betting is definitely a good thing.

Nice hand.

Thanks,

I guess I knew this was a no brainer, with the way it went on the end.

How about if the turn and river are blanks? Giving me nothing but overcards on the turn, and an ace high hand on the end? Stay in "steal" mode and bet out?

I'd usually bet a blank turn, the river bet would depend on my opinion of my opponent.

I don't think raising with AQs could ever be considered a blind steal.

This is fine. If you are in fact a "biatch" it's for reasons completely seperate from you're poker playing.

You have AQs,this is not a blind steal.

Thats what I thought. Using PokerTracker for a short while now has me thinking about real blind stealing though. I havn't yet starting pushing the blinds with weak hands in these kinds of situations, and i'm not even sure if that's a smart play at 3/6 and the like.

On a side note...

This guys' language & comments really got into my kitchen for some reason. My first reaction was to leave, as I'm not immune to tilt, and I wanted to play well rather than play to beat him.

Afterwards, I started thinking about how trash talking opponents might be used as an indicator for game selection.

My reasoning is that if there is alot of rude, BS, "gangsta" style trash talking going on at a table, it might mean that...

1) My opponents are young and immature.
2) Less than highly intelligent.
3) They might be the very kinds of players I want to be up against.

Anybody agree with this thinking, or considered it already?
