Default O8 starting hand

In a fairly loose game, do you play the following hands?

hand 1: A46T single suited to Ace MP, 1 limper in EP

hand 2: A4TJ single suited to J MP, 1 limper in EP

hand 3: A44K single suited to K MP, 1 limper in EP

hand 4: 2358 single suited, LP, 2 limpers ahead

hand 5: ATJJ single suited to J LP, 2 limpers

The only one I play sometimes is AJJT. If two low cards hit the flop, I'm gone. I'm looking for big cards and scooping with this hand.

I play half of them most of the time, but I still only get 22% flop seen, I figured that I must have played too tight, but judging from the replies it seems that I am still among the looser players. What's all your flop seen stats if those hands are not playable most of the time?

yah i play a j j t following the "sum of 40 or higher rule" the idea is that if you do hit a high hand, it most likely scoops the pot because you need all high cards to help. fold the rest and fold this hand if you miss the flop

Joker - In most fairly loose or very loose ring games, I'd probably generally see the flop with all of the hands you have listed under the conditions stipulated.

How I played the hands (limping or raising) would depend on my opponents.

Position is important with marginal hands. You do not want to be calling and have it raised behind you.

A4 is pretty weak for a low. I would not play any of them from middle position. I want a suited Ace with any A4 to consider playing it.

I'll only consider 23 hands if they include 234 and another good card, preferably the hand is suited or double-suited.

If I am on the button or the the cutoff I may play hand 1: A46T single suited to Ace. I might raise to try and get it heads up, depending on how the blinds play.

hand 5: ATJJ single suited to J
The suited JT is not worth much. If you make a flush you will either be beaten by a bigger flush or not get much action from a baby flush. I may see a flop with this hand in late postion. There are not many good flops for this hand. If two low cards flop or two suited cards flop you hand's value is greatly diminished. If high cards flop (K J 5) and you get a lot of action someone may have a bigger set or a wrap straight draw.
