I lost over $1600 when someone hijacked my account!
I had $1665.44 in my PartyPoker account when I logged out... when I logged back in yesterday it was at $0.44. The history shows someone yesterday morning going in and losing all that money at two tables. So somehow either my password was compromised (I have told no-one what my password was) or something else happened... I have been robbed of over $1600. I called PartyPoker's support number and they verified that an IP address logged in from the Washington, D.C. area and did that (I live in North Carolina). They then told me I was responsible for the lost money due to the terms I agreed to on the site.
I changed my password, but has anybody else had this happen to them? Until this is fixed, I am not going to keep much money in my account. |

Run an antivirus and check if you have a keylogger on your computer.

if you do not know anyone in DC that could possibly have looked over your shoulder at some point, i would suggest you do a complete virus scan. if you are that certain it is not someone you know, it is possible you have a key-logger virus.
someone recently had this problem, but i think it turned out to be a family member. good luck |

Were those two tables private tables, and did they lose the money to the same person at those two tables?

I have no idea how to tell... how do I find that out?

request your hand histories from that day, i imagine party would provide them in this case.

Party would be able to tell that. It sounds like they don't really care, however.
If it's that important to you, you could contact the police. If the locals (or even the feds, not sure if it would be their jurisdiction) are serious about cracking down on cyber crimes, they could subpoena PP's records. I'd try googling 'identity theft' and see what agencies to contact. |

Great info in that posting... just like that posting, my password was my son's name (which just happens to be one of the most common male names in the U.S.)! Perhaps someone is hacking people's accounts by logging in to user ids using common names and terms...

I bet there is nothing stopping someone entering your player ID and trying a couple commonly-used passwords. Probably would get in surprisingly often. I think I'll start with the folks on the 15/30 tables. |
