Default Hand Eval: jaroot VS. Tony Cousineau - 2003 UC in Aruba

I was just going over my 2003 Aurba trip report for sheets and giggles,
and there is one hand in particular that I haven't stopped thinking about
since last year. It's a hand I played vs Tony Cousineau early on in the
tourney. (*I had no clue who he was at the time*)
Keep in mind this was my 1st REAL offline tourney.. "although I had played
in a few $50 - $100 buy in's at Canterbury prior to this.

This is an excerpt from my 2003 trip report:
"Blinds are now 75/150... and I have seen my stack drop back
down to the starting level of 10,000 chips (after a few failed
attempted blind steals). I was probably playing
way to conservative as I did let go of a few suited connectors
which would have made me some nice hands. 3 people had already
been eliminated at our table, and 3 fairly large stacks had moved in,
one of which was the tourney chip leader at the time with about 40000
in chips.

75/150 level now coming to an end.. I am on the button with
AKo. 5th and 6th positions limp... I raise it up - flip in a 1K chip.
Blinds fold.. 5th position stares me down for about 30-40 seconds
playing with his chips.. and he starts to count down his remaining
chips (he was on a semi-short stack approx. 6500)
he finally declares.. "RAISE... make it 2600"

6th position folds... and it's back to me.. another 1600
to call. Jesus.. if he's coming over the top of me for 2600
he's almost surely got AA, KK or QQ.. and only QQ would I stand
a real chance against. Not only that.. but if he's betting over a 1/3
of his stack.. he's probably willing to call if I put him all in
here.
I decide best course of action is to FOLD. I could ahve called
to see a flop.. but I'm thinking I could lose a lot of chips
with this hand if A or K flops and he's got AA or KK.. so I reluctantly
MUCK.

He shows the table JJ... FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK.. I should
have at least seen the flop and went from there.
Dern it... chalk it up to inexperience I guess a re-raise
doesn't always mean AA or KK.. "
