I'm in my first hour of multitabling on my new Samsung 21 inch in 1600 X 1200 resolution.
I love no overlap, my eyes already ache. Is this an ajustment that that I'll get used too. I can not imagine what its like adjusting to multi tabling in 1600x1200 resolution on the dell inspiron laptop. I don't know how you guys do it. Here's hoping my eyes will get used to this |

I have the 21.3 Samsung as well. My eyes don't ache at all.
Is it because of the monitor itself or perhaps you're not used to the size of the text on the screen? Make sure you have the latest monitor drivers installed. My refresh rate is set to 60 hz in the Advanced properties, so you might want to check that too. Enjoy. |

I think maybe he's not used to 1600x1200 as LCDs are supposed to have less eye strain.
I've been using 1600x1200 on a 17" more than 6 years ago, upgraded to a 19" 4 years ago. Now it's 3200x1200 baby! |

What refresh rate do you use in the advance settings tab? 60 Hz (as mentioned here) is IMO way too low. All refresh rates below 75 Hz gives me a headache.
I also had some problems when I switched to 21", mainly with browsing the web. A tip is to turn of fonts and CSS in the browser settings, and choose "Verdana" as the font to always use. This will make (practically) all web pages to show up in the same size, wich you can fine-tune by choosing default text size in the browser. Adde |

Increase your refresh rate, you should be able to do atleast 85Hz with your monitor, if you download powerstrip you can bump it up even higher (mine is 100Hz) anything under 85 hurts my eyes i'm used to this now.

Only a very expensive one. Unusual to find much more than 1600X1200 off the shelf.

I could not find 3200x1200 even on the Internet, unless you count two monitors side-by-side acting as one. That's why I was wondering. I think the highest resolution I found was 1920x1200 a few months ago, but I might be remembering incorrectly. The 3200x1200 I found was just two monitors that looked like they were joined together with a black plastic strip separating them. The black strip looked to be at least a half-inch wide, so I saw little advantage in that compared to just placing say two Dell 2100fp monitors side by side. In other words the one I found wasn't really a single screen; it was two monitors wedded.

Two monitors, or one of those nifty dual monitors that really is two monitors in one frame.
