How Often Do You Notice Your Mistakes?
I'd say in an hour of 2 tabling there are usually 2 or 3 hands that I feel I made a mistake on at some point. And this is without paying attention to what my opponent shows down, or winds up mucking. Just the best course of action in a situation and you feel you didn't take it.

Re: How Often Do You Notice Your Mistakes?
I catch most of them right after I've clicked the button. The ones I miss I pretty much always catch when reviewing the histories afterwards. If theres any questionable ones, that's what the board's for

Re: How Often Do You Notice Your Mistakes?
I often find myself cussing right after the hand. Why didnt I push it more while I was ahead, why didn't I fold to that strong reraise, why did I even get into this hand.
I play at expekt.com, which doesn't have a table history feat AFAIK so I don't get that chance to review all hands, but I have a fairly good memory so I remember the big mistakes for hours. I'm just hoping I'll be able to learn something from this. |

I donīt remember exactly how I got the HHs, but the option is somewhere in the menu. |

Re: How Often Do You Notice Your Mistakes?
Amusingly enough I catch a great number of mistakes before I make them.
They're usually accompanied with me saying to myself: "damnit," "amazing," "unbelievable," "nice river," or "take it" before clicking the Call button. I'm working on the leak. |

Re: How Often Do You Notice Your Mistakes?
Same here, but I usually say something as i'm clicking on the raise button preflop. I don't really know why, but I always have the urge to raise with marginal hands and then go "WOOOOOO" or "lord have mercy". better than limping i guess.

Re: How Often Do You Notice Your Mistakes?
You will probably notice a bell effect as your poker career progresses. As a rookie, you will not notice many mistakes. As you learn more poker theory and gain experience, you should notice many mistakes that you have been making, and fight hard to not make them anymore. Then as you reach winning levels, you will not notice many mistakes again, because you don't like repeating bad history.
This is what I do after I lose a hand. First, I try to find out if I could have played it any other way to win the pot; check-raise, 3-bet, etc, to drive out the better hand. If the answer is no, there was no other way I could have played it to win the pot , then I ask if I should have played the hand to begin with. Sometimes, the answer is yes, you should have played the hand preflop. Unfortunately, the answer is more often no, you should have mucked. |
