Default Burden Of Records When Filing Taxes

It seems like it'd be a real pain to keep every hand ever played in pokertracker. Is there a way to somehow get around this? Shouldn't my account balance info be enough.

To my knowledge, you'd only need to furnish the IRS with this information if you are audited.

If you automatically request hand histories, then it should be no problem keeping track of all the hands you've played.

But party/empire only sends your last 100 hands. It'd be kind of a pain keeping track of every 100 hands I play so I can request more.

No, but all the IRS requires is your session results, (Date, time, location, stakes, win/loss). You can use PT, a spreadsheet, or something like statking to manage the data. It's surprising easy once you get in the habit and it covers your ass if you're ever audited.

you can set it to autorequest and autoimport and never have to worry about it once you start it up.

Stars was very friendly when I emailed their Support about sending my history since I signed up (I didn't get PT until I'd played a couple thousand hands already). I don't know if Party/Empire would be half as good about it but they very well might.

I thought you only had to declare your winnings if you cashed out? You should have records of your withdraws. Why isn't that enough for the IRS?
