Default question about SF day trip

I'm thinking about doing an afternoon/evening runup from the South Bay to Artichoke Joe's and Lucky Chances. With regard to neighborhoods and game quality, are there any recommendations as to what order to visit each place?

I'm guessing game selection won't be that much of an issue, since I'm looking at 3-6 or 6-12, but is either place in a particularly sketchy area?

TIA

Neither place is in a particularly sketchy neighborhood, although LC's location is safer than AJ's. I'd visit AJ's first a) because it's closer to the South Bay, and b) because it's AJ's.

The only folk that reside around Lucky Chances are the dead, not much of a neighborhood to worry about. Colma is graveyards and more graveyards because no dead are buried in San Francisco. It is a bit creepy.

Lucky Chances has more tables but I definately prefer to play at AJ's.

I think the food is much better at AJ's. As far as the play goes, you will see some of the same players at AJ's and LC's but AJ's can get really whacky with some ridiculously loose play sometimes. So can't LC's but when AJ's gets nutty, it is really wild (nights are looser than the days too)

AJ's feels like a friendlier place to me too for whatever that's worth to you.
