Wrong to Slow Down Here?
Interesting Hand below. Got involved with a guy I've been taking a LOT of money off of today, a total fish. He check-raised me, which confused the hell out of me. So I slowed down. A mistake?

Re: Wrong to Slow Down Here?
Depends on this particular sepcies of FISH. If you knew him to be so LAGy, you could have raised the turn. Gotta figure him for less here though, as he called 2 bets pre-flop. Doubtful he'd limp with a better ace than yours...
editied to add: BUt, yes, I'd probably have played it the same way. |

Re: Wrong to Slow Down Here?
Reraise the flop and see how serious he is about his hand. You would still like to be the aggressor in this hand, and you can only do so by putting in a third bet on the flop.
I also see nothing wrong with smooth calling the flop raise and raising the turn when bet into (provided a heart doesn't fall). |

Re: Wrong to Slow Down Here?
Thanks. Regarding the player, he / she is VERY passive. Almost no preflop raising, VPIP is like 65%. Nearly no aggression on any street of betting.
I thought maybe I should re-raise, but the aggression out of nowhere in a check-raise really threw me for a loop. Thanks for the advice everyone. |

Re: Wrong to Slow Down Here?
Fish or not, I would call his c/r and raise him on the turn.
If he isn't aggr I would fold to a 3 bet on the turn. After this if he bets out on the river I put in a call. Bet if he checks if he's a fish, against a better player I would check through on the river only able to beat an 8 or med PP. |

Re: Wrong to Slow Down Here?
I don't know how many hand u had on this player for her aggr factor but it looks like a small sample
I think u need a couple hundred hands or so to get a decent idea. |
