John Murphy This Year\'s \"Dutch Boyd\"?
It seems like John Murphy is getting a lot of the same type of coverage and praise that Ducth Boyd recieved at last year's main event. Just an observation.
So, I am now wondering where John can find a handful of cocky jerks so they can "take over the poker world" and then ESPN can spend countless hours of TV wasted on their stipid comments and jackass plays and then steal poker players' money with a bogus poker program? **Let it be known: John Murphy acts like a class act all the time and is at least some showing audiences and older players that not all "young gunz" are spazes like Fishcman and Mattias. I like the way Murphy handles himself, like walking up to
a new table and asking straight up who the bully is, then saying, "That's the one I want". That's pretty cool. But on Scott F., he is cocky, but he is a very good player too, and can afford to be cocky. The kid is only 23 and has accomplished what some poker players have not in their lifetimes. I loved it when Doyle took him out! I hope this past tournament that Doyle won is a televised event.

The hate the Boyd gets has to do with A LOT more than just "The Crew" and his youth. Drawing a comparison between Murphy and Boyd fails once you get past their age.

The Murphdog has already got himself a "crew" they consist of the following folks (not a joke):
Monkdogg Devmo Rags Chuck Showard and some who arent as close anymore I suppose: C-Dog Rossi So maybe next year they will have their own little "crew"

I'm sure if we all listed our friends and gave them cool knicknames, we'd have a crew too...

i can testify, i went to UC Santa Barbara while he was going to Santa Barbara CC, he was a friend of a friend, a real nice and cool guy, exactly the opposite of dutch boyd. he seems to concern himself much more with studying the game and improving his skills as opposed to dutch boyds talking about how he is the [censored] and how hes gonna "take over the poker world". this thread is an insult to Murphdog.

To be fair, do you know that Dutch doesn't study the game with equal passion?
Stealing from people is lousy. Being as ass like Fischman was is lousy. One offhand comment right after you've busted in the biggest event of your life is just that.
