How do I deal with this illogical yet common question?
"Wow, you must be really good at poker. If I give you $200 from my next paycheck, can you turn it into $400 for me?!"

Re: How do I deal with this illogical yet common question?
If someone's offering to stake me for an amount insignificant to my bankroll, I usually refuse, but ask them to stake me for an amount that would double my bankroll and allow me to play higher stakes games. That usually shuts them up.

Re: How do I deal with this illogical yet common question?
Try the best you can to explain to them that poker isn't roulette, and it doesn't make any sense for you to play someone else's money if you are winning with your own.
Be less forthcoming about your poker talents to members of the general public. It saves a lot of problems. -Michael |

My close friends know that I play poker, almost everyone else doesnt even know I play. |

I had this question all last year at University, I never really came up with a good answer but Sheriff Fatman's is very funny.
