brantford ontario fyi
i recently traveled to toronto and went to the brantford charity casino. i looked here for info and didnt find too much...so this is for those who may want to play there.
the poker room had two 2-5, two 5-10, two 10-20 and one 20-40 game on the tuesday i was there. there are nine tables total. it is a nice , clean, non-smoking room. the dealers were for the most part good. no free alcohol. not much talk at the table. actually...the quietest poker room i have ever been in. they call the button, the "puck". the play in the 5 - 10 game was much tighter and stronger (for the most part) than the lake charles 3-6-12 game (where i usually play). i visit toronto frequently and will go back there. also-- no craps tables in the casino. |

Re: brantford ontario fyi
I've played at Brantford several times.
They actually have 12 tables (I thiiiiink) 3 are out in the casino. I've seen them spread all the limits you mentioned plus 30/60 and even 50/100. I mainly stick to 2/5 and 5/10 but both were pretty soft when I played, of course the 2/5 was much, much softer. All in all, it's a nice cardroom and casino and it's only an hour away from me. I'll hopefully be playing there more often this year. |

Re: brantford ontario fyi
Yes it is Gretzky's hometown. You actually take the Wayne Gretzky Parkway to get there..
There are three poker rooms close to Toronto. Casino Rama up north, Brantford is west of the city, and Port Parry north east. All are approx 1h from Downtown. |

Re: brantford ontario fyi
I played a couple 5/10 sessions at Brantford this past weekend. Nice soft games... loose, 4-6 seeing the flop regularly, generally passive.
I quite enjoyed hearing most every player bitch and moan about how bad some other player was, apparently totally oblivious to their own bad play... fun times! Plus I pissed some guy off so that was an added bonus. Actually I might have pissed off another guy too, but he took off before I could tell. Now that I have something of a bankroll, I expect to be playing there more regularly. |

Re: brantford ontario fyi
Port Perry is the toughest room in the country.
At any given time, the 20-40 (and on Tuesdays when we play 50-100 -> 100-200) the game has upwards of 4 pros in it and everyone else is a cannon. No weakies or passives at all. Rama during the summer is much better than Brantford. All of the cottage country folk (my parents included) are there gamboooooling it up. My win rate in the 20-40 over the last two summers, a total of maybe 150 hours is $97/hour. I've posted about the games at these three casinos in the past, search the B+M forum for anything I've written to get an idea of how these rooms work. |

I\'ll be there this weekend
playing 20/40 (or whatever they're spreading)
Shoot me a PM if you want to meet for some beers. If the game is bad then it'd be fun to just get wasted and terrorize a 2/5 game... Last time me and a buddy raised-3bet-capped every hand preflop and played normally from then on. I won $250. |

Re: brantford ontario fyi
I go down occasionally (every month or so). The 5 / 10 isn't ideal but is definitely beatable. A fair number of weak tights and any acers. Really not too aggressive in general.
