I dont think the insta-call on the turn means much, perhaps a flush draw, overpair, straight draw, who knows.

Yeah, hence me wondering about betting the river. It felt like AQ/AK wanting a checkraise on the river (??), and given his preflop cap (granted, it was a limp-cap), it seemed like either a flush draw (which got there on the river), a straight draw (which got there on the river), or an ace (which already had me beat). So I checked the river. What I'm wondering is: river check bad? River check ok/understandable?

the instant call could mean anything. it could be a 6 or PP resigned to call down to see if you have something.

if villian is very loose, there might be some value in a river bet here. if you bet, you must call a check-raise though. i'd probably just check behind unless he was a total nut.

I can understand checking here, but a LAG limp/capping pf and auto-calling makes me think lower pocket pair. I'd suggest betting and calling a raise.

By far the most common limp/reraise hand I've come across is the low-medium pocket pair. Is it just instinctive behaviour, or is there a book out there somewhere that recommends it?

A lot of people will call with a 6 or a small pocket pair.

I think you should of bet the river. If he had an A or a 9 he'd raise the turn.

yes, i've seen this a lot recently, especially once its down to 3 players. i think they just think that if they get it heads-up, a PP is a slight favorite over AK.

I think you fire another one off here. The problem wth it is this the players are sso passive that they just sit here and let you bet the whole way.

To me it has turned into a coin flip to bet that river. I have noticed on PS players WILL fold to a river bet. Unlike other sites.
