Default what poker sites bundle adware/spyware with their software?

ive been looking for a new cardroom to play at, and so ive been downloading and checking out a few new sites and all of a sudden my computer is popup city. I ran adaware and there were hundreds of pieces of adware on my computer from the past few days and i had been fairly adaware free before now, anyone know the culprit?

I doubt the Poker sites put other spyware than their own in your system, and especially not ad-ware. All pop-ups do is slow you down, which directly cuts into their profits to the tune of what, millions of hands per day. Not a winning proposition for them.

Partypoker does admit though, that they spy on you a little. You can see a disclaimer on that at the bottom of your hand history requests, as I recall.

Default yes

Golden Palace also put some type of trackware on my system. Got rid of it with AdAware and Spybot S&D.

David Ross was having PC problems and went to some expert or something. He siad David needs to remove PartyPoker from his computer to avoid any future problems, and that reinstalling it wouldn't help at all since the problems would just come back. This is all from memory, so the details are a little funny. You can search the archives for his post if you really care.

spysweeper wants to delete all gaming club software from your computer when you run a complete sweep, it says it is spyware, maybe the gc guy could enlighten us on what spyware (if any) is attached to gaming club sites

I find one wherever I download Pacific. When I was playing Aztec for a bonus, I would get one from them.

that is a microgaming critter. it will spawn itself each time you reboot. if you are able to block it, you won't be able to play TGC. it is the only spyware that i allow, and it is because it can't be stopped. if you crush it, you lose every cookie and setting from your previous microgaming session. when you finish fixing the settings and re-entering your acct number, password etc, you just have another instance of it. therefore you may as well "allow" it.

in microgamings credit, this is the only thing they put there. also, it does not spawn anything else. i think it is only about internal tracking and to make sure you NEVER have 2 microgaming casinos/pokerrooms running. let it be, it is zero threat.

Thanks for clarifying that Granny. Heed her words, they are wise and right on the money. There's nothing untoward about it. If you do mess with it, then it can affect your software, but it's purely for account integrity and security.
