Adjusting to 1/2 -- 99 play
No reads other than the table is pretty tight. I'm struggling a bit with 99 - it's run into really passively played TT and JJ at this level a couple of times.
My default policy with hands like 99 is to push until I meet resistance. With the quality hands that have been shown down at the table the A and K on the flop and turn are worrisome. I was thinking a likely holding for MP2 was KQ but his play seems like an underpair to the board would play at .50/1. Either that or he's scared I have the frush. Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, Hero raises, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds. Flop: (5.50 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, MP2 calls. Turn: (3.75 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, MP2 calls. What should be the plan for the river if a blank falls? How do you generally handle underpair on a board like this at 1/2? Where starting hands and opponents are generally better? |
