I brought my laptop to work today and encountered this...help

Unable to get dial tone. Digital line detected. Am I screwed? Or is there a way around this?

UHHHH!!! OK here we go...the reason it detected digital DT was because you were plugged into a connection that is set up for a phone that is probably hooked up to a PBX (phone system). You need an analog connection to make your laptop go (ex. your home connection that has a phone number attached to it). If you are trying to play poker at work so you don't get fired for doing so on your company PC you have to find out how to get a modem connection to where you are at.

Thanks. I figured that was the hang up. I guess my slow Friday afternoon will have to be spent at 2+2 instead of at the tables [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

You gotta be careful man! I have seen digital ports fry analog connections many many many times! It will make your connection on the side freeze up and you won't be playing ANY poker. Just a HU!

If you have access to one of your FAX lines that may be a direct line.
