Default Joining Absolute Poker

Hi All

I'm thinking of joining Absolute Poker. I hear they have a 35% bonus. Do I need to sign up using a bonus code? Whats the maximum bonus amount?

I'd be nterested in the forums comments on the site/ bonus deal

Thanks

You can research the answers to your questions by directly going to their website.

As for comments, unless you're good at shorthanded games, it isn't the easiest bonus to clear.

The max bonus is $210, no code needed. I attempted this bonus recently, and gave up and cashed out before getting anywhere close to clearing it.
The bonus clears at a rate of $10 per 100 raked hands. They have few games, and often no full ring games at a given limit. The site is full of rocks. I was doing good to get 2 raked hands per 3 hands played. If you go for it, I recommend spending some time looking at what games are available and watching some at the times you can play before you do it.
There are some other ways to get points toward clearing your bonus. Check out the terms/conditions for the full, up-to-date scoop.

Rocks may be a bit of a stretch, but don't go in there using Ed Millers book as a playing guide.

I just joined yesterday and played 110 hands at .50/1.00. 50 were considered "raked" hands. 50 more and $10 is put into my real money account (and $10 for every $100 after that). This bonus is MUCH easier to clear than UB. On the 2+2 classifieds there is an AP rakeback/bonus deal. That's what I used.

There were only 2 full games at this level last night. The players were fairly loose passive so it was an easy night.

right now I'm playing at .25/.50 limits. I wonder if the Absolute deposit bonus is even worth my time to pursue at all. I think I'd have to move up a level to clear it, and wonder if it's worth the risk...

I guess I'm spoiled by Party/Empire bonus clearing. But if this bonus is much easier to clear that UB....wow...guess I'll stay away from UB. Actually, I think I've pretty much decided that bonus chasing isn't worth the effort and I'll just play Party and the occaisonal Party/Empire reload bonus.

I've found some pretty bad players at AP up to the 3/6 full and short games.
Some of the players are rather rock-like of course, but I've also seen some really terrible play there.

During U.S. prime-time hours there are more games to be found.

I also don't think the bonus-clearing there is as bad as others seem to think.
And they offer a zillion reloads.

If half of your hands are raked at 1/2 and you are clearing just $3-$4 of bonus per hour that's not bad.
That's up to 2BB/hr.

That said, I still have been playing more at party lately and not very much at AP at all. The games can just be so profitable at party sometimes....but I hadn't been playing there very much of late and have suddenly started running well there so those are probably factors as well.

Also, the AP software is buggy and also bugs me.
But the bonus-clearing really isn't THAT bad. Especially if you multi-table.

I think a lot of people are spoiled by the ease of Party's bonuses.
