Motor City Casino
Hi all, just wondering if any of y'all are regulars there. Been there about a month, just seeing if anyone here is from there. That's all

Re: Motor City Casino
I was thinking of going there, how do the games fare compared to Greektown...do they have a NL table?

Re: Motor City Casino
Only been to Greektwon a few times. They have a NL table there, blinds 2-2-5, 2 on the button, but I have never played there. I do like the room overall.

Re: Motor City Casino
Neither Greektown nor Motor City have no limit games with a capped buy-in. You should be aware that there are usually players with stacks around 10K at the table.

Re: Motor City Casino
I realize this, I have played in the greektown game, I was curious about the structure of the motor city game, what are the blinds? Is it a LAG game like the greektown one?

Re: Motor City Casino
I was only there twice. There are three blinds, I believe it is two big blinds and a small blind on the button, but it may be two small and one big. I forget.
The game was highly juiced. Lots of money going into the pot. Insane. -Michael |

Re: Motor City Casino
MotorCity??? Is that in Detroit? Since when has Detroit had casinos? That city is a rancid cesspool.

Re: Motor City Casino
It's still a rancid cesspool, but it has casinos...

Re: Motor City Casino
It's far better then it was even 5 years ago. The casinos, plus the new stadiums for the Lions and Tigers, plus GM moving their HQ to the Ren Cen has gone a long way. There's all kinds of new housing (and middle/upper class, not rent controlled) spreading out from the stadiums.
Anyway, the casinos came in response to the casino in Windsor, they've been around a few years. They're going to build permenant hotel/casino stuff eventually (supposed to be done before the Super Bowl in 2006, but probably not), the 3 are just "temporary" right now. Motor City's room is all no-smoking. It's cramped, too. The rake, from what I'm told is lower than Greektown (though it might be the same, at worst). The time I stopped in (a few weeks after it opened), they were spreading 3/6, 5/10, and NL. I don't know if they cap the buyin for the NL game (if smart, they would on at least one table and try to draw some folks who are afraid of the stupid stack sizes at Greektown). They've got an electronic board, and are still small enough they can hand out "pagers" so you can wander a bit while you wait. I've been waiting for them to get the kinks worked out before I give it a go. |
