take a typical 2-4 HE game, raked 10% to $4.
when the game gets short handed (5 or 6 players), they allow a half-rake. what exactly does this mean? i assume that $2 will now be the max rake, but does a dollar come out for each $10 still (10%, max $2) or only a dollar every $20 (5%, max $2)? also, when it is short enough that they allow a $1 rake.. that comes out at $10? thanks! |

I thonk it depends on where you play. 10% totally sucks!!
and people complain at 5% online LOL |

they will either half the cap or half the percentage, but generally not both.
most likely its the cap they half, so 10% max $2, but asking is the only way to know for sure. |

usually $1 per $10 still, capped at $2. Casino execs gotta eat, you know.
Sometimes I've heard that it doesn't start raking until the $20 level, then $1 for $20 and $1 for $30. Your mileage may vary. |

Most places will reduce the rake if the game is SH, but it depends on where you play.
