I was watching ESPN's overcoverage of the WSOP, and saw the one with Fischman. Now...not going to beat it to death, but I had a thought. Is it just me, or is the "Crew" poker's version of the Cobra Kai?

Yea, I could see Scott Fischman at a final table, with Dutch Boyd in the crowd, eyes intense, calling out an order to 'SWEEP THE LEG!', and with another member of the crew yelling out, 'GET HIM A BODYBAG!!!'

In college, we had a couple of teammates who knew Vacation line for line. Kept us pretty entertained on long roadtrips.

Had a workmate with ADD that did this with Dumb and Dumber, with inflection and female voices, as well as several episodes of saved by the bell. Unfortunately, he was also the most annoying person ever.

believe me, get a college baseball team separated into two RV's on a trip from Salem OR to LA, and you'll be glad to be in the one with the guy who memorized Vacation. add in some beers and you have quality entertainment for the 17 hour drive. Plus, in the session that really hooked me on poker, I won every cent of meal money from three teammates on that trip.

"The Crew", where are the four horsemen and the NWO? I feel like I'm watching an old episode of Big 2 wrestling direct from St. Joe. Where are are Easy Ed Wiskowski and Mike George when you need them?

I don't think that's a fair comparison. The 4 horsemen and the NWO were "cool bad guys", the guys you love to hate, and hate to love. With the crew, people just hate them, period. No enterainment value, just irritation, IMHO.
