Default How long is a session?

While going through my poker stats for B&M play, I notice my 'sessions' range from a few minutes to about 30 hours at the same table.

Sessions average +/- 12 hours. I take a 'long' break (30+ minutes) every 3 hours or so to clear my mind, exercise, eat, etc. Break time is not seperated in my stats.

I start a new session when I join a table, change tables, game, or limits, even if the table change is 'must move'.

Just curious what others call a 'session'.

Thanks

My session started with the first hand I played, and will end with the last hand I ever play. It is a real long session. There are a lot of bumps here and there, and some breaks, some long, some short. When I'm done with my session, I'll let you know how I did.

Are you saying that you sit out at a table for over 30 min?

Sorry if I misunderstood, but I think that sitting out for much more than 5 minutes is very selfish and discourteous to the other players, both those at the table and those looking for a game. I find this particularly annoying at games where the number of tables is limited, like O/8, or at short-handed games. If I'm going to do the chores or cook dinner, I have the courtesy to leave the table.

I'm sure there are many different opinions on this, and I'd be curious to hear them.

It looks like he is talking B&M, where it is not uncommon for players to leave for 15-30 minutes to grab a bite to eat or something like that. you get some folks who seem to play a hand or two, go walk around for 20 minutes, play another few hands and then disappear again.

My mistake. I didn't mean to get off on a rant there.

Yes, I did.

30 hours? Are you out of your mind?

Anyway, I'd say a session is when primary activity is "playing". If you take a break "from playing" for a few minutes than its still that session.

When I was a teenager, I would have to stop for a second and turn the album to side 2. I still have my albums but would gladly trade them for my hair.

Pokerwise, when I sit down to when I leave. Number of tables don't matter. FWIW - I can't figure out the guys who are paying time and spend half of it bullshi**ing somewhere else.
