Does anyone have any relatives or friends that live in the Port Charlotte area of Florida? I have a house down there and am very nervous and curious to the outcome of the majority of homes in that region.

If anyone has any idea on the condition of homes down in Port Charollete please give me some details

A friend of mine lives in Tampa. He told me that the city was pretty much untouched.

Having been through 2 major hurricanes myself, (Andrew '92, and Lilly '02), I feel for all Florida residents tonight.

I think Zulu is saying that Tampa is pretty much untouched, which it is. But Port Charlotte took the brunt of the storm. I've heard estimates of anywhere from 150 to 1000 homes being destroyed but it's really too early to say.
