Bet the draw?
When is it correct to bet your draws in pot limit? (Omaha or holdem)

Re: Bet the draw?
Bet your draws when doing so will either increase your chances of winning the pot or when you can bet for value. This means bet when you can gain outs by knocking out opponents or when you can get enough calls that the bet pays for itself and shows a profit (ie, five callers for a draw that will come in 1/3 of the time).
Edit: Oops, sorry, I forgot this is the pot/no limit forum. Ignore the "number of callers" aspect unless your no limit game is playing like a limit game. SpaceAce |

Re: Bet the draw?
don't forget that, other than deception, a large part of the benefit of semi-bluffing is the possibility that you will pick up the pot right there. it may often be incorrect to semi-bluff a draw into a field of 9 other players, while the same board might make it correct to bet this draw with only 2 or 3 other players.

Re: Bet the draw?
The biggest reason I bet my draw is for a free river card. If you're in LP with a flush/straight draw, a bet on the flop will often times take the flop down. If someone calls, then they will most likely check to you on the turn is well. When this happens, you can check behind as well to see if your river card hits. If you hit here, you'll probably get paid off as the villain thinks your turn check was a sign of weakness and he'll bet into you. Essentially your paying a small pot sized bet on the flop to see two cards, where as a call on the flop would leave you with another bet on the turn that you rarely have odds to call for.
