Default I\'ve got a silly affiliate question

I don't know much about how these affiliate programs work, but it seems like it might be somewhat worthwhile looking into becoming one. In any case, I wanted to know if affiliates get a portion of their own rake back. Basically - if I signed up as a Party affiliate, could I sign myself up as a player as well and get the rakeback they offer? If it's a dumbass question, by all means ridicule me.

I should add that I don't have a party account right now.

Not a dumbass question. But I think Party frowns on this and you have to sign up a certain # of people each month to continue to get the rake cut from previous signups.

Sounds good but like all Ponzi schemes it has its drawbacks.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. The idea of becoming an affiliate is tempting, but I'm not sure I have the time between school and work to put the effort necessary into it to make it truly profitable.

As somebody totally new to all of this, can someone please explain to me how it all works? I'm currently playing at Party and Stars. Can I get a good rebate on my rake by signing up with an affliate? I have no clue how it works, so please explain to me in baby steps. And I would rather have an impartial person(i.e. not an affiliate trying to sign me up) be the one explaining it to me. TIA.

OK You have an account on Party.

You are effed trying to get a rake rebate on Party.

The rake is %5 of the money bet on a hand ( Certain conditions apply).

If you click on a banner at various websites and then signup at the poker room the website gets paid a certain amount of money.

This can range from a set fee to a cut of the rake generated at the table you play .Usually 20-25%.This is for as long as you play at the Poker site.

At a 10 handed $3/6 table when the pot reaches $60 the rake to the poker site is $3.

No matter that you folded your 8-3 suited UTG, Your share of the rake is 30 cents.

The affiliate would get 6 cents and some of them will give you a certain % back.

So it becomes a matter of trust.

That the affiliate will pay you and that he will get enough signups each month to keep his affiliate status.

A hard earned lesson in life: "Don't trust nobody"

You may want to delete all traces of Party and sign up with an Empire affiliate ( Choose carefully !)
