Neteller Debit Card
Has anyone been using the Neteller debit card? I just got it and am thinking about using it as a more private way to get to my funds instead of EFT's to checking account. Seems like a good idea, although there are some small fee's that come with it.
Has anyone been using it? Any problems? |

Re: Neteller Debit Card
I have used it, it is great. I will most likely use it to directly buy things with some of my profits, that is, after I pay off my credit cards, cough cough.

Re: Neteller Debit Card
I am going to assume that you are thinking of this because you don't want to pay taxes on the money you cashout throught the debit card. While it may seem like a bright idea to try this keep in mind the neteller debit card is issued by a bank within the United States, and if you are ever audited the IRS may find out abut this account in which case you end up paying taxes on the money as well as a penalty.

Re: Neteller Debit Card
Not every country in the world requires you to pay taxes on your gambling winnings. I feel sorry for you Yanks. Your government is overbearing. It wasn't that long ago when you wouldn't put up with such unreasonable taxes. Hell, you killed two of my ancestors over a small tea tax for crying out loud.
Now you Yanks are so scared you accept whatever they tell you to accept. I see you have five buck packs of fags! Most of that is taxes! At least your tea is cheap, I guess they won't ever mess with taxes on tea again. Lucky mates! |

Re: Neteller Debit Card
so why would you want a "more private" way of getting your money?

Re: Neteller Debit Card
I think but am not certain that the debit card is issued by a Canadian bank.
All funds on the card are held in canadian dollars and converted into whatever currency you use localy at the the ATM. |

Re: Neteller Debit Card
You are wrong.
Neteller debit card, for US residents, is most definitely isssued by a US based bank. Says so right there on their documentation. |

Re: Neteller Debit Card
Seems no one answered your question. I do use the card here and there. The first time I transfered money to it, they charged a % fee which wasn't posted on their site. I think it was either 1.9% or 2.9% on the total tranfer (rip-off). There is no way to get an online balance of the funds on the card, you have to use a ATM and pay a fee (rip-off). I did send Neteller a nasty email regarding this transfer fee and they applogised and credited my account with $8.90 with a huge disclaimer. It seems that they still have not posted their new fees.... All and all I think the card is a rip-off and expensive to use but convenient for those needing the funds ASAP.
I am Canadian so when I transfer funds to my bank account, Neteller grabs a few points on the exchange (rip-off), lose, lose for me but I got it all figured out now which is another story (PM me to find out how to get online USD cash into a canadian account with no fees at par exchange) |
