Re: AKo in the Big Blind
Sure looks like bad news to me, I'd call it down expecting to see two pair. You could even fold given a solid read on SB. Raising only makes sense if you can see this player betting into you after youve led the whole way with something like a pair of 5s, its much more likely that your beat.

Re: AKo in the Big Blind
Raising hte river is horrible here, for two very important reasons
1) since SB comes to life on the river you may be beat, so if you raise you invite getting 3-bet 2) if you raise, you knock out potential overcalls in case you are ahead. combine 1 and 2, its a case of losing the least and winning the most |

Heads up, raising would be close but I would tend to avoid doing it against most non-aggressive players. |

I'm surprised he called me down.. |

Re: AKo in the Big Blind
Hey Gatts,
When sb leads into you on the river, at these limits I would expect to be shown 2pr at the least, possibly 69. I'm just calling the river. -Jaran |

You guys are missing the point in this hand:
Even if hero KNOWS he still has the SB beat, it is still incorrect to raise here. It's a call to induce overcall situations with several players still left to act behind. Doesn't matter if you're ahead or behind. |

FWIW, SB turned over Q5 and I cried, then threw some things, then cried while throwing some things. -Gatts |
