What to do with $1k???

I have built my BR to just shy of $1000, a feat I am very proud of, as I have been very careful in bankroll management etc. Now, originally I thought when I hit $1k, I will cash out half of it, and continue the cycle of $500 to $1000, until I cash out again. However, I thought maybe using my online money in other ways (like casino whoring for example) may be worth investing in. What would anyone recommend? I am a small stakes player, and dont think I am ready just yet to move up limits, and besides, I wouldnt mind some extra cash at the moment. I figure if I can (and in how long) get from $500 to $1000 again, then I will consider moving up.

I'd say casino whoring is a little risky with a bankroll of $1,000. Most of the bigger bonuses will require a large chunk of this to be put at risk and there is a chance you will lose out. Considering how careful you've been to get to where you are I think the emotional hit of a bad casino whoring experience will be quite painful to take.

Personally I'd suggest using the fund to bonus whore a few more poker sites (I'm assuming that you are currently playing on 1 or 2 sites only). The low-limit whoring will be familiar ground for you, so you will continue your poker education, and the bonuses available will not be insignificant.

Save the casino whoring till you're at a stage where a hit of, say, $500 won't put you on a massive emotional tilt. I don't think $1,000 is enough of a cushion to absorb that yet.

With a grand needing investment for today only, I'd probably put 600 into Absolute for the first time 35% bonus, and the other 400 in ThePlatinumPokerClub for the 50% cash bonus and 50% bonus buck offer (bonus bucks take a long time to work off but with the cash bonus also who cares?). Expect freeing $25 bonus bucks working off $200 cash bonus requirements.

If you did that today, you'd have a 1200 immediate bankroll to play with since TPPC credits the 200 after deposit to be worked off as you go. You'd have 205 in Absolute bonuses to be worked off in 10 buck increments for 100 raked games played. Plus you'd also have 200 in bonus bucks for TPPC to be worked off until hell freezes over.

None of the bonuses have time limits to meet.Plus TPPC has great point buy in free rolls for extra incentives gained while you work off the bonus there and acquire poker points, as does Absolute, but to a much lesser degree of value.

For instance, while working off the TPPC cash bonus terms, you will also get an additonal 320 bucks in promotional free roll values. I'm not sure exactly how much the Absolute free roll values work off to for the AP points you'll get clearing bonuses there, but probably not worth more than 20 bucks or so in value.

So after playing 5050 games total between the two sites, my estimate is you will be directly gaining 430 in cash bonuses plus 350 in promotional point buy in free roll value for a total of 780 in direct and indirect bonus value.

780 extra for a 1000 deposit isn't to bad for today. Give yourself a week to 10 days to clear these bonuses playing one table at each site for several hours of play per day. If you play more than one table at a time, it goes much faster, although at TPPC you can't always find two tables of the same limit to play at same time unless you enjoy 2-4 LHE.

Oh yeah, you will also get a 10% rake rebate in addition to the above bonuses at the TPPC, so you can add an additonal 10-15 bucks back there in the end also on top of the mentioned bonuses.

Also, you may get more value in the TPPC point buy in values than I mentioned also, depending on if you use them for the 5k and 10k free rolls rather than the daily 1k's. You might be able to get up to 400 in value if you are selective with your points. For instance, if you notice 65 people in a 1k rather than 100, that would be a better value. Or use 500 points for a 5k with 80 people registering rather than entering 5 1k's with 100 people entering. Or noticing only 80 people entering the 10k for 1000 points may be better than entering two 5k's with 110 people in each. You just have to keep an eye on how you use the 3000 poker points for best total value.
