Default Two live game river decisions (Bay 101)

Bay 101 6/12 hold'em, 2/6 blinds, $3 live collection on the button

Hand 1: Hero is button with 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img],6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Preflop: 3 limpers, 2+2'er JSD raises in the CO, hero semi-coldcalls, blinds and all limpers call.

Flop (13.5 SB): K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (7 players)
Checked to JSD, JSD bets, hero raises, SB and BB call, all others (including JSD) fold.

Turn (10 BB): 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
2 checks, hero bets, blinds call.

River (13 BB): 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Checked to me, I check behind.

Hand 2: Hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Preflop: Hero raises, folded around to pretty loose, somewhat aggressive player in LMP who cold-calls, button and blinds fold. Heads-up.

Flop (5.3 SB): Q, 8, 5 rainbow
I bet, LMP raises, I call. Check/raising any non-Q turn.

Turn (4.7 BB): K, putting 2 spades on board.
LMP bets and calls the check/raise.

I bet the river dark.
River (8.7 BB): 4, no flush. LMP raises. Hero...

call? 3-bet and call a 4-bet? 3-bet and 5-bet?

Hand 1:

River (13 BB): 8
Checked to me, I check behind.

BOOOOOOOOOO.

Hand 2:

How big is your stack? You have the 2nd nuts. With no flush on the board I would go to at least 12 bets.

Hand 1: Although the pot is already 13BB, I think I would bet the river here (a classic value bet). Its pretty hard to put the blinds on anything, but a 7 seems pretty improbable. Lots of 'blind-ish' two pair hands. At least one of them is probably on the failed spade draw. Bet, call a raise.

Hand 2: There is precisely one hand you can't beat, 6-7. I'd put him on K-Q (though the odds of those cards are low). 3-bet, call a 4-bet.

Hand 1, you must stop being afraid. Bet the river.

Hand 2, the only hand you're afraid of is 67s, which is unfortunately reasonable. Reraise and call down if shown any more aggression.

I disagree. This is Bay101 6/12, not Party 2/4. My experience has been that when I get 3-bet (or 4-bet) on an expensive street in CA low-limit games, I'm almost always shown THE NUTS. I'd 3-bet and call a 4-bet.

Hand 1: I wouldn't be afraid of a 7 here. Bet and call a raise.

Hand 2: How well does your opponent play post-flop? Does he respect your play? Against almost everyone, I'd 3-bet. I'd usually 5-bet, since any smaller set, AA, or any two pair will probably re-raise me (in addition to 6-7). I'd only call a 6-bet...most of the people I play against would need the nuts to go that far.

Hand 1 is any easy river bet. For hand 2 I put in one more raise.

I guess I'll defer here, but it hurts to put him on this instead of an underset given his turn bet and one river raise.

Thanks, I needed that. Pretty much the only reason I included hand 1 in the post. Hopefully, next time I have an easy river bet like this, I can remind myself that if I check, I'll have to post it and get booed again. Possibly even with 10 captial O's.

I have villain covered, after his river raise, I eyeballed that he had about 6 BB left in front of him. I 3-bet, he 4-bet fairly quickly (he now has about 4 BB left on the table). So are we playing this for 4 or 8 BB on the river?
