Quirky hand... what are the odds?
What are the odds of two players being dealt AA on the same hand? Just saw it happen while I was sweating someone in a SNG.

[/ QUOTE ] The probability that any particular pair of players gets AA on some hand is 1/270725. The 45 such events are disjoint, so the probability that some pair of players gets AA is 45/270725. In a 9-handed game, there would be only 36 pairs of players, so the probability is 36/270725.

But if you have been dealt AA the probability that someone else also has AA is much higher than this. Don't have time to work out exactly right now but a good approximation for 9 other opponents would be 9*(1/C(50,2)) or about 1/136 .
