Default FPP on Poker Stars

Poker Stars gives players FPP for freerolls
I played a satellite for 50 FPP. The winners went on to a 5000 FPP tournament. 469 people in the 50 FPP 50 times 469 = 23,450 so you would think that 4 people would go on but only 2 did. I know this is not that big of a deal but why do they do this. Do they think this is right. I did not come in 3rd or 4th but who ever did should be very mad.Let me know if I am way off.

Stars FPP round 1 tournaments don't scale their "payout" based on number of entrants. There are a fixed number of winners who move on no matter how many enter.

In some cases, the overlay will benefit you - in others it wont.

Try playing the first round fpp tournaments in the early morning. I was in one with 40 players and 9 won entries into the level two. Later in the day the odds drop rapidly.

correct.
when my sleep schedule was pretty messed up for awhile i played in a few of the WSOP round-1 FPP qualifiers at 6 a.m. or so. these had a great overlay.

something like 60FPP to enter.
10 would get an entry worth 600FPP...yet only 40 would enter...or something like that.

if you can do the math you can figure out BEFORE registering whether it will be an FPP overlay or not if this is interesting to you.
you don't have to register until 1 minute before it starts.

Ok if under 200 people were in it would be good for the player but most of the time the player is on the short end why is this right
