Default Big pot: I am a fish.

Ok, I had time to play a short session today. I sit down and post and get this hand. A monster.

The pot looked like it was going to be a pretty good size, so I called the preflop raise.

I caught my draw (caught my draw, I AM a fish) on the turn and was not going to release the hand for one BB.

Tell me how bad this was...I felt dirty.

-Bad flop call? Due to the pot size, I wanted to see if I could catch a draw. And I was not totally convinced the other poster had a made hand. Maybe raise or fold time?

Fold pre-flop OR flop. By the time you reach the turn with an inside straight draw, the call there is fine. I probably try to check-raise the CO on the river.

Yes, you are a fish.

I would have folded pre-flop, but you are last to act, so I guess this is not horrible.

What were you drawing to on the flop? Runner-runner to a 1 card straight (to maybe split or even lose the pot)? Ten-ten to maybe lose to a better full house? You are probably behind every other hand at the table. Even if you caught a ten (much less a three) on the turn, you might still be behind (and you would never know). Fold here.

The turn and river are fine.

T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] may look like a good hand, but it is not what it seems. Fold preflop. Fold the flop.

Played great from there.

Default Results and Thanks

I won the pot as SB had 4/8o for two pairs, it was a nice start to the short session and gave me the image of a complete moron (apparantly not wholly untrue).

Thanks for putting me in my place. I know it was a bad call (pf and flop), and I know I am being results-oriented. Sometimes I don't remember how to play in bigger pots or something. I'm not sure what it is.

Actually it looked like total and complete trash.

It was the pot that was looking good. What can I say, I like the big pots..

I don't think it even looks particularly good.
