Implid Odds w/Gutshots & Pocket Pairs

Generally speaking, what kind of implied odds do I need to call a bet on the flop w/ a gutshot? What about a pocket pair that missed the flop? I've heard 8 to 1 thrown around (I think)....

In general*, you should be ok with around 8-1 pot odds for your gutshot.

Your PP needs much higher - probably 18-1 or more.

(*there are obviously cases where you need much more or much less than 8-1)
