QJ out of the bb

Anyone hate my flop bet? I have midpair, a gutshot, a backdoor flush draw. I wasn't that comfortable doing it but i still kinda liked it.

Hero goes for the check raise or bets? I wont say what I did, but I don't think the answer is all that close in hindsite.

If UTG+1 has the obvious flush or straight on the turn, there's no reason to believe he's going to check it on the river. Check-raise time! [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]. Just try to keep the saliva from hitting the felt.

I don't see the point of the flop bet. You really think you have the best hand here or, if not, can get everyone to fold?

The river is actually close, but only because the guy who raised the turn is a total fish, so he could be raising with less than a straight/flush, like Party fish very often seem to do. The cold-caller might scare him, so I think there's a real danger that the fish will check. I would bet.

I'm betting. Checking this through would be a catastrophe. If he is a fish with flush/str8 he may well raise you anyway and you can 3-bet....

Check-raise the river. MP will probably bet if the fish fails to (I think MP has a straight). It's a great situation because either the fish bets and MP is trapped for 2 bets, or MP bets, you check-raise and the fish calls 2 cold.

Glad this one worked out for you, but I think I am just check calling on the flop. However, betting out seems to disguise your hand a bit.

River - I go for the check-raise hoping that UTG bets, MP1 calls, and that you can trap both of them for another.

From what you write about your opponent, the play of your opponent on the flop and turn, I would be willing to guess you can bet the river and he would raise, and you can 3 bet, and I wouldn't be surprised if he capped. I think MP1 will just fold when it's 2 bets to him thinking you will likely 3 bet.

It got checked through. mp1 had KT and utg+1 had T8.

I think I was being results oriented perhaps when I was saying I don't think it was that close. I really think I should check raise, here. It's jsut too bad it wiffed.
