Default I\'m a moron, right?

I'm looking for leaks in my SNG play, and I think I just found one. I have a tendency to hold on to a marginal hand longer than I should. This was the first mistake I made in a lunchtime SNG today:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (9 handed)

Button (t630)
SB (t1505)
Hero (t1110)
UTG (t1425)
UTG+1 (t585)
MP1 (t535)
MP2 (t615)
MP3 (t405)
CO (t1190)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls t30, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 calls t30, MP3 calls t30, CO folds, Button folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (t150) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG bets t30, MP2 calls t30, MP3 calls t30, SB folds, Hero calls t30.

I know, "never call to an inside straight," but I'm getting 8:1 from the pot and I'm only a 5:1 dog to make my straight by the river. Foolish logic, or a reasonable call?

Turn: (t270) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets t30, MP2 raises to t90, MP3 folds, Hero calls t90, UTG calls t60.

Now I'm only getting 5:1 to call -- I know I should fold but what the hell...

River: (t540) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, MP2 bets t465 (All-In), Hero folds, UTG folds.

I missed my straight but now I have a pair of tens. No way am I gonna call an all-in with that!

Final Pot: t1005
Main Pot: t540 (t540), won by MP2.
Pot 2: t465 (t465), returned to MP2.

So was I wrong to call after the flop? I think now it was a mistake, but I'm not sure. I know after the turn was wrong, and this is probably a major leak in my game. So when would you have laid this down?

Yes you were wrong to call that flop. You have 4 outs to make your inside straight draw on the TURN giving you about 11:1 odds to make it. The pot is not giving you these odds at all. On top of that, two of your outs may not be clean due to the club flush draw. Fold this flop every time.
