Correct Strategy?
If you end up HU in a pot with a player (LAG) who will raise (and cap if you reraise) the flop with a draw (overcards, straight draw, flush draw) as well as with hands (overpair, set, etc)...and you bet a good, but not great, hand (eg. KJ with JT3 flop) and he raises...what is the correct play for the flop and for the turn if a blank falls (assuming you don't fold on the flop)?

Re: Correct Strategy?
What was the preflop action? What position are you/him in?
(assuming you don't fold on the flop)? Folding top pair versus a loose-aggressive player on the flop is going to be wrong a very high percentage of the time. Welcome to the forum, Joe Tall |

Re: Correct Strategy?
Preflop action....perhaps he raises late and you call in BB. Maybe you open raise in late position and he calls on the button and blinds fold. Whatever the case, no significant preflop action, HU, he has position.
Yes, I agree with not folding on the flop...but one may want to just pick a better spot. Thanks for the welcome. |

Re: Correct Strategy?
How could you ever fold KJ on a JT3 flop HU to a LAG?

Re: Correct Strategy?
Yes I read what you said but the assumption is silly.

lol....a correct assumption is silly????? [/ QUOTE ] No, but it's an unnecessary statement. 3-bet the flop. Lead the turn if he just calls. Check-call the turn if he 4-bets the flop. Or... Call the flop then lead the turn ("stop-and-go"). |
