Stars $10 rebuy.
Cant remember how many entrants there were tbh but we are down to the last 4 players. 1st paid about 2.5k 2nd 1.7k 3rd 1.1k 4th just under $800 Hand 1 seat 1 ME:SB (310364 in chips) seat 2 BB (99602 in chips) seat 3 UTG (1004930 in chips) seat 4 MP (155104 in chips) Blinds are 10k/20k ante 1k Folded to me in the SB with 9s Tc BB has 78602 after posting. I thought this was a no brainer,I bet enough to put him all in. correct or not? The player in question had been very tight but solid enough for me to think he would call with any Ax,pair or connecting cards. Hand 2 Blinds are same Seat 1:Me:BB (268762 in chips) Seat 2:UTG (327408 in chips) Seat 4:MP(841726 in chips) Seat 7:SB (132104 in chips) I get A2o in the BB UTG calls,SB completes. I thought long and hard about pushing here, the reason I didnt was I that I was almost certain I would get called by the big stack. He had been very loose in his calling requirements before reaching this stage and had busted many people by hitting 2 and 3 outers, any hand he would play pre flop he would almost certainly play for all my chips.Plus he could well be slow playing a big hand. The SB and shortest stack had been very tight,I felt I could wait for him to bust before I took on the big stack with a marginal hand and pocket the extra $400 3rd place paid. I missed the flop and the Big stack took it down with a bet. right or wrong thoughts here?? Hand 3 Blinds same again but about to go up to 15/30k Seat 1: Me BB (174762 in chips) Seat 2: UTG (327408 in chips) Seat 4: MP(1013726 in chips) Seat 7: SB (54104 in chips) Folded to the SB who goes all in for another 33104 Pot = 77k I have 9s 6d and 153k after posting. The pot was laying me just over 2-1. Call or fold? Thanks for input |

hand 1: i'd push. i think the BB will fold a decent number of hands still.
hand 2: i'd play it as you did again. i don't want to risk my whole stack when i can't be more than 60% to win (except against 2x) and i'm not the short stack. take a free flop and hope for the best. hand 3: i'd call. especially because i think you forgot about the antes in the pot size, so your odds are even more favorable. there's too much money in there to fold here. if you win here, you guarantee yourself 3rd place money and can take a shot at getting to heads up. |

Hand 1 The BB called with K3o and neither of us improved.
I still think I made the correct play,as did he calling.Just one of those hands you need to get lucky with I guess. Hand 2 Nothing to add here hand 3 I folded and regretted it about 6 hands later when I busted out in 4th after not getting another opportunity to play a hand. The short stack doubled up after hitting a full house and I went card dead. I realise you need a little luck at this stage of a tourney and I probably should of gambled at that point, still not 100% sure though. |
