Default Flopped trip K

Would you have slowplayed this, or do the 2 diamonds make that a bad idea?

You could have checked it, but the bet is fine.

The chances of the one other player having the right pair of suited cards is pretty slim even if the board three flushes. I'd slowplay it against one opponent.

If you check the flop here its just too obvius you flopped something good. Bet it and hope for action.

From what I've seen on PP .5/1, it's become so customary for people to slowplay any set on the flop and bet out with a bluff that I generally get better results just betting them out with a possible check-raise on the turn if the situtation looks right. In this case, though, with just one player in the pot heads-up with you, I think you could give him one free chance to make a second-best hand or try a bluff. He won't fold for one SB if he has a diamond anyway, but if it checks through and no diamond shows on the turn, then his odds are not good to call the BB you put out. (If the diamond does show on the turn and he made a flush, it's sad, but you couldn't have stopped him, and you saved a SB.)

it seems that many on party will check/call the flop with a set, even top. and then bet out on the turn. suggestions on combating this (besides flopping a flush or str8)?

Um, don't worry about it? Pay attention to who does it, and if they check-raise you on the turn, think.

The best way to disguise the strength of your hand is to bet it. So yeah, bet.
